Areas of Activity

CCTV and Access Control
This will include a review of any existing security systems covering CCTV, patrol systems and access control, to understand the location and nature of the deployed systems, how they are used and integration with other applications. Recommendations will look at the use of a common infrastructure, the integration of any new buildings, the scope for IP-enablement and systems integration, and any revenue generation opportunities that may be realised by merging CCTV and access control.

Building Management and Control
AIB's work is likely to include a review of any existing building management and control systems with the aim of understanding their coverage and capacity, their integration with other systems and the relevant operational processes. Recommendations will be made on the use of a common infrastructure for the deployment of building management systems, the management and control of client buildings as a managed service, and the scope and capability of IP-enabled systems.

Wireless and mobile
This will include an assessment of existing wireless networks, what they are being used for and by whom they are being operated, prior to recommendations on WiFi access and management, the use of WiMax technology and the role of an integrated delivery platform for all wireless services.
